Prof. Dr. Christine Huth-Hildebrandt

Prof. Dr. Christine Huth-Hildebrandt left the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in 2017 and became Dean for the Department Social Humanities and Languages at the German Jordanian University and Head of Department for Social Work. Her focus of teaching is Theories, Concepts and Methods of Social Work under the Perspective of Gender, Equality, Migration and Flight. During her professorship in Germany, she was involved in numerous international projects.

Since working at GJU, she has been involved in an educational project for Syrian and Jordanian children in Umm al Jimal and in Camp Zaatari - both locations close to the border with Syria - funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation, which has addressed their common culture and history - beyond colonially drawn national borders - and combined it with experiential education elements.

Since 2018, she is responsible for the Jordanian part of the DAAD projects at THWS. During the next 3 years, she will also participate in a DFG research project "Stay, return, or move on: Comparing the Living Strategies of Forced Migrants in Transit Countries", located at Ruhr Universität Bochum and Freie Universität Berlin, where she will be the project leader for the Jordanian part.

Prof. Dr. Nada Eltaiba

Prof. Dr. Nada Eltaiba is an associate professor at the Social Work Department at the German Jordanian University. Nada Eltaiba is a dedicated academic with a diverse academic background and extensive experience in the field of social work and counselling. Her educational journey includes a PhD in Social Work and Social Policy from The University of Western Australia, a Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance, a Master's in Narrative Therapy and Community Work, a Certificate in Territory Teaching, and a BA in Social Work.

Throughout her career, she worked in esteemed institutions such as The University of Western Australia, Curtin University of Technology, Qatar University, Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, and Al-Balqa University in Jordan. 

Her professional journey is mainly in mental health, domestic violence, parenting and multicultural settings. She is an accredited mental health social worker by the Australian Association of Social Work and worked in a private practice with individuals, families, and communities. 

Nada Eltaiba’s research pursuits focus on mental health problems, religion, culture, teaching social work and Social Work ethics. She is not only a scholar but also a compassionate advocate for a more inclusive and understanding society, where mental health is a top priority.

Farah Al Hamouri (M.A.)

Portrait Farah Al Hamouri

Farah Al Hamouri holds a bachelor’s degree in political sciences and a master's degree in “Social Work with refugees”. She has participated in different trainings focusing on facilitation skills, helpline services, and relational needs. Through her 10+ years of experience, she worked as a university researcher and research assistant in projects aiming at increasing knowledge and developing a better academic curriculum at the universities. Since 2018, she is part of the DAAD project collaboration between THWS and GJU facilitating a higher education dialogue and exchange with social work students from Germany, Jordan, and Lebanon. 

Farah Al Hamouri is also co-establishing a professional association for social workers in Jordan, teaching field training for the professional diploma students in social work at the German Jordanian University (GJU), and advocating for professionalizing social work in Jordan.
